Each year Intertops sends qualifying players to one of the biggest events known to the poker industry worldwide…the $1,000,000 CAPT Velden tournament. This year “Christoph” was accompanied by the poker room’s manager to the €500 event.
“Christoph” nearly won the event last year and had determination headed to the start main event held at one of Austria’s most luxurious gambling destination’s, the Casino Velden.
“Velden is one of the biggest tournaments in the CAPT season in terms of participants and it takes place in a great setting!” Christoph said. “It’s kind of the kick-off tournament. For me it’s also fun to meet a lot of players that I know but don’t see very often.”
Unfortunately, this was not the year of “Christoph” as there was a new champion crowned, this player too only known by his single moniker, “Joe”, beat out 214 poker hopefuls to claim the top spot at the NLH Main Event with a huge stake of €90,630 of the total €395,000 prize pool.
“Christoph” spoke about his experience at this years CAPT Velden NLH Main Even, stating, “I played OK but I was very unhappy with one hand where all signs were telling me that my opponent was bluffing but I didn’t have the guts to call with my weak hand. After I folded, my analysis was proven to be right when my opponent showed his cards.”
“Competition was good this year, many players of different skills. Fun to play them and I learned a few things from observing some fun hands that went down on my table.”
“Joe” proved this year to be a worthy contender, leading the final table as a definitive chip leader as the final four players faced off in a fast pace to the finish.
